Research-driven strategy

Ali built relationships with collaborators and peer reviewers from the World Economic Forum, the Trillion Trees Platform, and researchers from initiatives such as Project Drawdown and the Crowther Labs. She partnered with co-founders to create the Four Trillion Trees initiative, a think tank that seeks to broaden the scope of application for nature based solutions to climate change. Four Trillion Trees was invited by the World Economic Forum to join the Trillion Trees Platform (1t.org) as a thought leader, vetted by peers in the founding cohort.

Four Trillion Trees

Ali and two co-founders launched Four Trillion Trees (4TT), a nature based solutions think tank for carbon removal, focusing on research-based and data-driven carbon capture strategy, oriented toward re-wilding, biodiversity, native species, soil remediation, region-specific regeneration strategies, multi-stakeholder collaboration, integrated botanical forest design, and the Akira Miyawaki method of 5-layer succession afforestation.

  • Created afforestation partnerships and built community relationships in Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Maui, Mainland China, and Selma, Alabama.

  • Collaboratively designed prototypes for urban and rural forest renewal to suit the needs of the stakeholders within the partner communities - in line with nature based solutions principles for carbon drawdown, and the native species principles of the Miyawaki method.
